Job description
Schedule: M-F, core hours are 6:45am – 3:15pm although flexibility is required. Some weekend and holiday overtime may also be required.


Description: Responsible for managing the warehouse function, establishing work procedures for efficient warehouse operations in the areas of space management, shipping/receiving to meet customer orders, and developing and training the warehouse team, including material handlers, at the Beauty Park facility. Leads and participates in Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

1. Respect Amcor Rigid Plastics’ primary focus, that is to ensure the “Safety” of all co-workers, temporary workers, contractors, and visitors granted access to the plant. Adhere to all shipping safety guidelines with regard to use of forklifts, dock locks, jack stands, glad hand locks, dock plates, chocks, etc.

2. Must follow Amcor’s policies and procedures to ensure quality standards, product safety and good manufacturing practices are maintained as per company standards.

3. Ensures that all warehouse coordinators and forklift drivers are properly trained in their respective job duties and aware of potential safety and/or health risks. Responsible for leading the warehouse function, establishing work instructions for efficient warehouse operations in the areas of inventory, space management, shipping/receiving to meet customer orders, as well as the professional development and monitoring of the warehouse team, including material handlers, at the facility.

4. Obtain sign-off from QC for all raw materials prior to storage. Store materials as required in cooperation with material handlers. Perform dock audits as required. Maintain quality log for items rejected at the dock, including mixed and damaged product.

5. Provides input, solutions and options on improving productivity/efficiencies and product quality relating to shipping and receiving activities.

6. Ensures warehouse is organized properly and efficiently for easy access, establishes priorities for the warehouse team, and works closely with the shift supervisors to ensure the effective utilization of available resources.

7. Must be able to obtain and keep forklift certification and forklift training capabilities. Operates forklift to move production around the warehouse and for loading/unloading shipments on and off truck.

8. Generate and fill out BOL, manifest, shipping inspection, and customs’ paperwork as needed, and generate COC for shipment. Take corrective actions as needed should outbound shipments not meet shipping quality standards.

9. Utilizing FIFO inventory principles, accurately load for shipment to the customer per shipping guidelines and customer expectations. Request moves of Mast shipments through YMS portal.

10. Manages the movement of raw material and finished goods inventory to and from the Beauty Park facility. Coordinates outgoing/inbound shipments with on-site freight carriers and outside carriers to ensure on-time customer shipments and receipt of materials and supplies. Coordinates with Columbus plant for warehousing and shipping of their products. Responsible for month-to-date shipping and receiving reports.

11. Maintains building security by controlling the activities of delivery or pick-up drivers. Ensures truck drivers are signed in and out of FMS at appropriate times. Maintain good housekeeping standards and assign responsibilities for housekeeping including outside dock area and trash compactor.

12. Coworkers must be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed. Perform other related duties as directed by the materials manager or management.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Previous manufacturing and/or warehouse experience is preferred.

• Experience with warehouse configurations

• Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values; this includes accurately entering information into an online database and into spreadsheets.

• Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions/judgment calls based on the situation at hand.

• Able to effectively present information and to respond to questions from management.

• Demonstrates strong interpersonal and problem solving skills.

• Good written and verbal communication skills are required including the ability to present information and respond in a group environment.

• Must possess excellent computer skills, with experience in Excel, Word, and email applications. SAP and MII experience preferred. Must be able to learn and navigate other relevant computer applications including but not limited to YMS, SAP and MII.

• All CBT Safety Training Assigned by Corporate and Management

• All training required by Plants Training Matrix

• Proficient hand-eye coordination to operate equipment and assemble packaging for shipment.

Working Conditions:

• Continuous noise of 85dB.

• Frequent exposure to vibration, dust, humidity.

Physical Requirements:

1. This is a medium physical demand job.

2. Lift/push/pull up to 2000 pounds 50 feet using a hydraulic hand jack (this is the equivalent of a static push/pull of approximately 70 pounds).

3. Coworkers may be required to stand and/or walk up to 11 hours on a concrete floor.

4. Coworkers are required to; bend, turn/twist; kneel; squat; crawl; climb; reach out and up; turn wrist; grasp; pinch; and have finger manipulations.

5. Each facility requires personal protective equipment and may require protective clothing. See site specific rules.
